Tri For The Cure is a women’s triathlon focused on raising money to find a cure breast cancer and support the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Under Armour Power In Pink is the official apparel sponsor of the event.

The Tri For The Cure expo took place on a beautifully sunny day in the parking lot of Bicycle Village in Aurora, CO. There was pink everywhere. The 2008 UA Power In Pink campaign wasn’t scheduled to launch for another month, but we took the opportunity to preview some of the 2008 limited edition Power In Pink products for the 3,000 competitors and innumerable guests who came to the expo that day. Megan, a triathlete and one of the three survivors chosen to represent the 2008 Power In Pink initiative, was there to help spread the message.
 
Race day dawned, and it was just as sunny, and quite warm. The group of over 100 survivors started their race at 7am, and waves of athletes followed in the glistening water of Cherry Creek Reservoir for the next two hours. The day warmed, and athlete after athlete finished the race, proud and tired. About a third of the 3,000 competitors wore the Under Armour Action Racerback Tank that they received the day before as their race shirt.  It kept, and were glad to have the premium moisture wicking fabric working to keep them cool and dry….or as cool and dry as they could be on a day where the temperature was pushing 90 degrees! We had a tent in the celebration area near the finish line, which was a fun atmosphere that stayed full of proud athletes and their supporters until around noon. Tough race conditions, but a very proud accomplishment for all the finishers. Congratulations from Under Armour, and we look forward to seeing you next year!

Under Armour is proud to support our women’s Collegiate teams by providing Power in Pink uniforms.  Over 30 basketball, softball, volleyball, soccer, lacrosse and field hockey teams across the country will proudly wear Power in Pink uniforms in select games to help us spread the word about our cause.
