Track Spikes Built For Every Event

When it comes to getting a new pair of track cleats (AKA track spikes), there’s plenty that goes into making the right choice. The dynamic of each pair is different depending on what track and field event you’re in. Cushioning increases for longer sprints and distances, while spikes differ depending on events like javelin or long jump. Find the best track spikes with our Under Armour tech that fits your game.

Cushioned and Supportive

Finding the right pair of track and field shoes is like finding the right running shoes. You want a snug fit that molds to your feet with cushioning that can go the distance. The difference between track shoes and running shoes, though, is that track spikes involve pieces like plates on the forefoot to support toe-offs since you’re running more on that part of your foot compared to a more heel-toe approach. They’re also not as thick as a typical running shoe, as track spikes are made as lightweight as possible for shorter distances with the exception of 1500M to 10K races.

All that said, something like the UA Sprint Pro 3 track spikes fit the mold for a power sprint shoe. The Pebax™ plate on the forefoot digs in for explosive take-offs, while the UA HOVR™ sockliner and Energy Web let you land comfortably with each stride. As the distance gets longer, we start to add tech like full-length UA HOVR™ midsoles and full-length plates into our spikes for track that cover more ground and reduce impact.

If you’re a long jumper, the UA HOVR™ Skyline track spikes have a molded sharkskin heel for traction when you plant and transition into your jump. For events like javelin where you might be planting in not-so pleasant grounds, the UA HOVR Silencer track shoes come with 9mm spikes that dig into the ground to keep you as supported and stabilized as ever for your throws.
