A PLACE TO GROW, A PLACE TO LEARN, A PLACE TO BE MORE ACTIVE
Stephen Curry knows first-hand the importance of an education in the development of youth, and how it can give every child the chance to reach their potential. His parents Sonya and Dell founded the Christian Montessori School in North Carolina, which he attended along with his brother Seth and sister Sydel. That collective appreciation for education led the Curry Family Foundation to partner with Under Armour and Chase to give back to a group of students at Bushrod Community Center in Oakland.

“I was truly blessed to grow up within the education-focused structure that I did, and that starts with my mother who founded the Montessori School in 1995,” said Stephen Curry. “She is the anchor of our family, and her emphasis on education as the tool to grow and provide opportunity has stuck with me my entire life. Every kid that walks through her doors is someone she sees that can be molded to reach their unlimited potential, and that mindset is something I want to bring to my adopted home in Oakland.”
The Curry Family Foundation, Under Armour and Chase unveiled a significant court refurbishment project at the Bushrod Recreation Center, to give local students the platform to use school as a positive place, where they want to go to grow personally, physically and mentally and prepare them for a lifetime of success.

The collaboration goes much deeper than the hardwood, though, as Stephen understands the power of education goes beyond the court, and effects kids in the arts and culture as well. Devin Allen, a Baltimore-based photographer and Under Armour teammate has been working with Bushrod students to teach them the intricacies of photography, utilizing his curriculum to get students out into their communities and photograph their lives and neighborhoods. This artwork is being debuted as part of the court unveil and is evidence of students experiencing the arts through sports and their communities. The photography will remain on the walls at Bushrod.

STEPHEN CURRY SETS HIS SIGHTS ON “MORE RINGS”
Curry 4 Championship Pack Drops On Opening Night
The last of the confetti had hit the floor at Oracle Arena, as Golden State fans made their way home, honking horns in celebration all the way. In the middle of a raucous locker room with champagne flowing amidst goggle-adorned teammates, Stephen Curry lit a celebratory cigar. It may have seemed out of character for the now two-time World Champion, but in the moment, it was what he desired.

Since that night, Curry has had time to reflect, as well as look ahead to the start of a new NBA season. He took time to appreciate all the setbacks and challenges of the previous season that led up to that very moment of pure joy.

“And I want to accomplish a lot MORE this season,” Curry wrote in a letter tucked inside each Curry 4 “More Rings” Champ Pack. “More fun. More rings. More everything. Hopefully, we’re doing this all again next year.”

Stephen Curry Shares With Fans He Wants More This Season
On October 7 in Shanghai, Stephen Curry and Under Armour were joined by local fans to celebrate the China launch of the highly-anticipated Curry 4.

Curry showcased the “More Magic” colorway from the helipad of The Peninsula Shanghai tower located on the historic waterfront of the Bund.

He took to the mic to share his outlook for the new NBA season, which included his hopes of delivering a third World Championship to the Bay Area. Fans then laced up the “More Magic” colorway and participated in a series of performance drills and challenges.

The multi-hued line that flows across the toe box and wraps around the Curry 4 “More Magic” colorway is inspired by the vibrancy of the Bund, where the neon lights of Shanghai’s Pudong skyscrapers reflect off the waters of the Huangpu River that snakes through the modern city.

UNDER ARMOUR DEBUTS FIRST CURRY 4 COLORWAY,
MORE MAGIC
Stephen Curry introduced the world to his fourth signature shoe, the Curry 4, on June 1, during Game 1 of the NBA Finals. Over the next five games, Curry averaged just over 26 points and 8 assists per game to complete Golden State’s second NBA championship run in three years.

Fast-forward to October 7, when Curry and Under Armour will give others a taste of what the two-time World Champion and two-time league MVP was looking for in his new shoe: more traction, more comfort and more control.

Over eight seasons in the league, Curry’s ball handling skills have only become more magical – hence the colorway name. He’s been described as the league’s most creative, mesmerizing, illusive, and thrilling player to watch, while his ability to deceive and elude defenders continues to be the best show on hardwood.

The Curry 4 “More Magic” is available primarily in China. The colors flowing across the toe box and wrapping around the shoe pull inspiration from the vibrancy of The Bund where the neon lights of the modern city reflect off the waters of the Huangpu River snaking through Shanghai.

Looking ahead to the 2017-18 NBA season, Curry has shared he is hungry for more: more wins, more reps, more records, more titles – and more magic for his team and the fans.

The first Curry 4 colorway to release, “More Magic,” will be available in limited pairs across China while supplies last beginning October 7. Later that day in the US, a few pairs will drop at Shoe Palace (4900 Telegraph Ave, Oakland, Calif.) and Footlocker (Sunvalley Mall, Concord, Calif.) in the Bay Area, and at the Under Armour Brand Houses in Boston and Chicago for $130 USD.
