Other brand catcher's sets list the sizing in age ranges. EX: 6-9, 9-12, 12-16...What age range does this fit? It cannot possibly be "One size fits all".

I have a youth catcher’s helmet and the top strap doesn’t have a clip or adjuster—just two slots on the back. Is it correct to loop the strap up through one slot and down through the other so friction holds it in place?
