The pants are very light and comfortable. I usually wear size 2 but these pants are a bit bigger than my previous pants. I would suggest to go down one size

Would these be recommended for Alaska's rainy weather?

I bought these pants for golf, but primarily for a trip to Iceland. They are completely waterproof and wind proof. I have been to Alaska several times and I would highly recommend them.
