Hi, Rod! Our ColdGear® OG is not specifically designed for swimming.
This would be based on personal preference, but the Men's ColdGear® OG Mock Long Sleeve (compression fit) is made of our smooth, performance ColdGear® material, while the Base styles have a soft, grid-like texture (similarly to long johns/long underwear). The Men's UA Base 3.0 Crew is ideal for very cold weather and moderate activity, while the 2.0 is ideal for cold weather and high activity levels. These base styles are fitted, not compression.
