What’s the difference between cold gear and base 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0?

2.0 is for cold weather with heavy activity. 3.0 is colder weather with moderate to light activity. 4.0 is for very cold weather with little-to-no activity. ColdGear keeps you warm in cold weather, but does not factor in your activity level.

Would 3.0 or 4.0 be better for a trip to Antarctica in late Dec to early Jan? Sounds like moderate activity….
